There have been rumours swirling around the F1 world that the team is set to announce a new sponsorship deal with Gulf. This speculation has been fuelled by the creation of a partnership page for the oil company on the team’s website prior to any formal announcements last week. If the rumours turn out to be true, this would be a significant boost for the team.

Williams is the third team to reveal their livery ahead of the 2023 season, following in the footsteps of Haas and Red Bull. The team is hoping that the new car and livery will give them a competitive edge over the rest of the field, and the new sponsorship deal would certainly help with that.

New team principal James Vowles, and drivers’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant are expected to feature prominently at the launch event.

After the end of the 2022 season, Jost Capito stepped down from his role as team principal, and it was recently confirmed that Mercedes chief strategist James Vowles would be taking over the position. Vowles brings with him a wealth of experience and technical know-how, and the team is hoping that his leadership will help them to achieve their goals in the 2023 season.

One of Williams’ main rivals, Haas, has secured a title sponsorship with MoneyGram, which has enabled them to hit the budget cap limit. This has raised expectations for Williams, and all eyes will be on them today to see if they do confirm the Gulf partnership, which could put them in a similar position.

The next important F1 date for fans to keep in mind is Tuesday 7 February, when Alfa Romeo will be revealing their 2023 car. This is sure to be another exciting event, as fans get a first look at what the teams have been working on for the upcoming season.
