F1 Welcomes Ford Minutes Ahead Of Red Bull RB19 Unveiling

Ford has confirmed its return to Formula 1 (F1) in 2026, igniting excitement in the racing world. Although the team the automaker is partnering with has not been officially announced, it is widely speculated that it will be Red Bull Racing. The Austrian team is due to launch their RB19 and make the partnership official this afternoon.

F1 took to Twitter to share the news, stating that Red Bull has been searching for a technical partner to create their own power units from 2026. There have been rumors of connections with Honda and Porsche, but it was finally revealed that Ford sent representatives to New York at the same time Red Bull was there to launch the RB19.

F1 boss Stefano Domenicali expressed his excitement about the return of the iconic brand, stating, “The news today that Ford is coming to Formula 1 from 2026 is great for the sport and we are excited to see them join the incredible automotive partners already in Formula 1.” He added, “Ford is a global brand with an incredible heritage in racing and the automotive world and they see the huge value that our platform provides with over half a billion fans around the world.”

Ford’s commitment to sustainability and becoming a net-zero carbon company by 2030, as well as introducing sustainable fuels in F1 cars from 2026, was also a factor in the decision to enter the sport. Domenicali stated, “We believe that our sport provides the opportunity and reach unlike any other and we cannot wait for the Ford logo to be racing round F1’s iconic circuits from 2026.”

Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company, Bill Ford, spoke about the automaker’s return to the top motorsport, saying, “This is the start of a thrilling new chapter in Ford’s motorsports story that began when my great-grandfather [Henry Ford] won a race that helped launch our company.” He added, “Ford is returning to the pinnacle of the sport, bringing Ford’s long tradition of innovation, sustainability and electrification to one of the world’s most visible stages.”

With the anticipation building for the release of the RB19 and the official confirmation of the partnership, the racing world is excited to see the Ford logo back on the track and competing at the highest level of motorsport.
